28th Infantry Division Benefit Dinner

Purpose of the Event:
To raise funds for the 28th Infantry Division Scholarship Fund, the Monument Fund and the Military Museum Fund.
Schedule of Events:
6:00 to 7:30 – Cocktail Hour and Raffle Ticket Sales
Enjoy live music, hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, and Yuengling Lager on draft. Meet our guest speaker and see historical Pennsylvania Civil War artifacts. View our great raffle items and take a chance on them, there will be something for everyone!
7:30 to 9:00 – Dinner
Introduction of Honored Guests by MC and Invocation. Dinner Buffet features entrees of Seafood au Gratin (baked blend of scrod fillet, bay shrimp, blue crab meat, scallops and vegetables) and Chicken Penne Prima Vera (penne pasta with chicken breast, garden blend and wild mushrooms tossed in a parmesan/feta sauce) with 4 sides, and 2 salads. After dinner, enjoy a dessert buffet.
9:00 to 9:30 – Keynote Speaker
Captain F. W. “Bill” Rohm, US Navy, Retired
Captain Rohm is the great-grandson of Ferdinand F. Rohm, Chief Bugler, 16th Pennsylvania Cavalry and the author of No Braver Man. The book is a story of the factual events that occurred surrounding the activities of the 16th Pennsylvania Cavalry from the formation of the regiment in 1862 until it was mustered out in 1865. The book highlights the battle at Reams Station in which Ferdinand F. Rohm saves the life of James Addams Beaver, who later becomes Governor of PA, and for which he awarded the Medal of Honor.
Captain Rohm served 30 years in the U.S. Navy, having commanded two nuclear submarines and the Naval Maritime Intelligence Center. Since then, he has served on the Director's staff of the Applied Research Laboratory of the Pennsylvania State University. He now resides in Juniata County, Pennsylvania.

For those attending the dinner from out of town, the Association has a block of rooms reserved at the all new Comfort Suites, situated in the heart of historic downtown Carlisle, ideally located one mile from
I-81, Exit 47 to 34 North, three miles from PA Turnpike, Exit 226 to Route 11 South, to 34 South. Room rates are $88 per night (federal rate). Anyone wishing reservations is strongly encouraged to make them prior to March 30 to ensure accommodations will be available.
